ENVIROHUM
About Us
Who are we?
Environment, noun: The area surrounding a place or thing.
Hum, verb: To make a low continuous murmuring sound or note, as a bee or other insect.
EnviroHum: Capturing and collecting continuous murmurs of place and space.
EnviroHum is a new experimental project hat seeks to challenge assumed styles of academic writing and artistic creation. Through our blog and annual ezine we hope to provide a common ground for the international exchange of ideas and artworks across the Environmental Humanities.
Ultimately the project hopes to break down the barriers of communication between the space of the institution and the places we live in. Giving voice to all of those continuous murmurs about space and place, from natural landscapes to urban centres, EnviroHum is a collective and collaborative project for all of us with an interest in the environment.
The editors of EnviroHum have an open call for contributions from the creative, to the critical, and anything else in-between. EnviroHum is a project for all. We want to hear from anyone and everyone currently researching, making or exploring a strong sense of place. We seek to promote engaging works which creatively explore our relationship with the world around us.
